CenterPointe Assembly is a Spirit filled church located in Mobile, Alabama. We are currently located at the I-65 Service Road and Moffett Road.
In January of 1952, services began in the old Navy Barracks in Chickasaw under the name, First Assembly of God of Chickasaw. The church began with a handful of faithful members dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus to the growing community. By March of 1953, the church moved into its’ first permanent building located at the intersection of Thompson Boulevard and Kansas Street. Through the power & grace of the Holy Spirit the church grew and in 1960 completed a new sanctuary. Over the ensuing years, First Assembly of God of Chickasaw Was a thriving ministry in the community and had a far reaching effect on Foreign Missions. Through the leadership of many incredible Pastors, the church reached many people, overwhelming the limited facilities.
In 2006, Pastor Spence Walker was elected to lead the church. Pastor Walker has a far reaching vision for the church that extended beyond its’ confined property. The church began the process of developing a new church facility located on 12 acres in Mobile. Since the church would be moving to a larger property in Mobile, the membership voted overwhelming to change the name of the church to CenterPointe Assembly, due to its’ central location in the Metropolitan area. The property that had been occupied since 1953 was sold. With the move to the new location and the ministry growing, it is an exciting time to be a part of the CenterPointe Assembly family!
